The Woman Behind The Name
In 1098, a girl named Hildegard began having visions in a small Benedictine convent in what is now Germany. Over the next eight decades, she would become one of the most remarkable women in Western history — an abbess, herbalist, physician, theologian, composer, and mystic.
Hildegard of Bingen was one of the first in the Western tradition to systematically document plant-based medicine. She believed health was a living relationship between the body, the natural world, and the rhythms of life. She was rigorous, compassionate, deeply faithful, and unafraid to speak with authority in a world that rarely gave women a voice.
I named this practice after her because she represents everything I want to embody: Western herbal tradition, grounded in science, rooted in the belief that the body was designed to heal.
Meet Kristina
I’m Kristina, and for years I was the woman I now help. I lived with chronic anxiety and frequent panic attacks that felt completely beyond my control. I was functional on the outside; holding down jobs, building a career in digital marketing, But on the inside, my nervous system was running on empty.
The turning point wasn’t dramatic. It was quiet. Through herbal medicine and whole-body nervous system support, I slowly found relief. Not a quick fix. A steady, unglamorous process of giving my body what it actually needed. Eventually, I was able to stop the medication I’d relied on for years.
My partner saw what was happening before I did, that I’d found the thing I was meant to do. He encouraged me to stop managing other people’s marketing and start studying what I was already passionate about. I enrolled at Wildrose College of Herbal Medicine and earned my Practical Herbalism Diploma, along with additional training in clinical aromatherapy, the neurobiology of sleep, immunology and traditional herbal approaches to cancer care. I completed my clinical practicum in May 2025. And then I became a mother.
Becoming a new mom changed everything about how I understand the women I work with. It’s one thing to study nervous system depletion in a textbook. It’s another to feel it in your body at 3am with a baby who won’t settle, while your own nervous system is screaming for rest it isn’t going to get. The lived experience… the real, unglamorous, sometimes desperate experience, of being a woman whose body is asked to do more than it can sustain? I don’t just understand it clinically anymore. I know it personally.
Why Hildegard
I discovered Hildegard of Bingen during my studies and was immediately drawn to her for reasons that went deeper than her herbal knowledge. In a history where female healers were routinely persecuted, accused of witchcraft, or simply erased, Hildegard was not only tolerated, she was revered. She is the patron saint of writers and composers and recognized as a Doctor of the Catholic Church. She built something lasting, in difficult conditions, with authority and grace.
That’s the model for this practice. Grounded, evidence-informed, deeply rooted and built to last.
My Approach
I practice Western clinical herbalism, with a focus on North American plants and simplified, body-led assessment. My clinical lens is the nervous system because I believe that when the nervous system is supported, everything else begins to settle.
I work primarily with women experiencing anxiety, burnout, hormonal disruption, and the quiet depletion that comes from years of carrying too much. My approach is practical, personalized and rooted in the belief that your body was designed for more than survival mode.
